The Henderson Heat participated in their first out of state tournament last weekend and walked away as the Tournament Champions in their division. The Orange County Hoops Fest was put on by the Swoosh Group and was attended by some of the best 14u club teams in Southern California.

The Heat did not loose a single game in the tournament and was able to stay unbeaten as a team since their inseption. Some of the games were very close, but each time the team needed to make a run offensively or a stand defensively all of the players came together to make it happen. Coach Porter said, "In most tournament situtations I like to name a MVP player but it would be impossible to pick a single player after watching the great team work given by all of my guys in the tournament." Coach Reed said, "These guys really did play great as a team and were able to accomplished their goal of going home as the tournament champions but there is a lot of things every player could have done better. We let some of these teams stay in the game when they should have been blown out. We will be back in the gym on Monday working really hard to correct the little things."
